Fall is the perfect time for a fashion update, not just for women, but also for men. Whether jeans and a T-shirt are your go-to style, or you prefer a more polished look, this season has styles that will make every man feel his best.

Men’s fashion this season is all about looks inspired by classic locations, according to style experts and STYLEdge managing directors Elaine Sweeney and Patty Soltis. With looks derived from the north, south, east and west, there is a style for every man this season.

One of the easiest and most classic styles that men who love to be comfortable can wear is the Cuban-inspired look. Not only is this a great look on any man, but it also celebrates Tampa’s historic Cuban heritage.

“Untucked and lightweight, this loosely defined trend can be achieved with button-down shirts and pants combined with a four-button cardigan,” said Soltis. “Add a hat and cigar to top it off. This look is for every man this season. In certain regions in the country like Miami and Tampa, you are sure to see the Guayabera!”

If you are looking for a more rugged look, point your inspiration to the west. The American west in the 19th century is a stylish influence that all men can incorporate into their wardrobe. This look is perfect whether you are heading out for a date or a night with friends. The trick is to make sure that you don’t go overboard and begin to look like you are in a costume.

“Western influence works whether you’re a mountain man or a metro man,” said Sweeney. “Go all out with leather boots, belt, and hat, or incorporate just a touch of the wild west with a yoke shirt and snap pockets. There are countless directions to go for our modern cowboys; feel free to mix in some cow print too!”

Another great look that incorporates rugged style with a clean and fresh look is the military style. Crisp epaulettes and brass buttons are at the forefront in men’s fashion this season. Military style jackets are also a classic style that you can use year after year. You will find not only that this look is very stylish, but also that it’s functional and long-lasting.

If you aren’t sure if the military style is for you, incorporating small military details can help you test out the look.

“Not a military man? Don’t be shy, you can pull off the look strictly from a fashion perspective,” said Sweeney.

For a look that can be dressed up or down, look to the north. Not only is this a classic look, but it also comes in a variety of colors and is arguably one of the most classic fall looks. Pair a classic plaid shirt with a plain black or tan sport coat, or go all out with a plaid jacket or pants. No matter how you decide to bring plaid into your look, it will make your outfit look more polished and put together.

“Go mad for plaid!” said Soltis. “Whether it be a shirt derived from the Lumberjack Pendleton, a sport coat perfect for dinner at the club, or even a pair of slacks, plaid is a must have. If you are feeling on the edge, mix it together for an unforgettable look.”

With each of these fall styles, whether you go all out or just choose to add a few staple pieces and details into your wardrobe, you will be ready for any occasion.
