The Tampa Bay History Center will host author Donn Colee on Dec. 6 at the downtown Tampa museum, which collects and preserves authentic historical material of the Tampa Bay area

Mr. Colee’s free talk, one of the center’s Florida Conversations series, “intertwines the social history of the state while sharing stories of Tampa Bay’s most popular radio and TV personalities, broadcasting’s finest moments, and the precarious path the industry is now on,” according to the center. “Towers In The Sand – History Of Florida Broadcasting” is from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Florida Conversations is underwritten by the Tampa Bay History Center endowment fund at USF and co-sponsored by the USF Libraries Florida Studies Center and the History Center. WUSF Public Media provides media support. For more information, call the center at 813-228-0097.

The Tampa Bay History Center’s 60,000‐square‐foot, waterfront building, is located at 801 Old Water Street in Tampa’s Channel District.
