The Tampa Bay History Center and the Dali Museum will host a SiCafe panel discussion on Aug. 23.

The discussion at 6:30 p.m. at the Dali in downtown St. Petersburg centers on the intersection of respective exhibits by Clyde Butcher at the two institutions:  The Dali’s Clyde Butcher:  “Visions of Dali’s Spain”, which runs through Nov. 25, and the TBHC’s upcoming “A History of Conservation — The Bird’s-eye View’”, which opens on Aug. 25.

SiCafe St. Petersburg is an informal discussion series for adults created by Marine Exploration Center of St. Petersburg. “Its purpose is to raise awareness and satisfy peoples’ curiosity about things scientific,” according to the history center.

Rob Lori, news director of community radio station WMNF 88.5 will moderate the event.  The speakers are: Peter Tush, curator of Dalí Museum’s “Clyde Butcher: Visions of Dali’s Spain”; Ann Paul, guest curator of the TBHC “A History of Conservation – The Bird’s-Eye View” exhibit and regional coordinator, Audubon Florida; Paul Gray, science coordinator, Audubon Florida Everglades Program and lender to TBHC Audubon Conservation exhibit; and Ed Sherwood, executive director of the Tampa Bay Estuary Program.

The event is free.  The center requests that your RSVP by Aug 20 by calling 727-803-9799, Ext 102,  or send an email to info@mecstpete.org.
