The Glass Art Society (GAS) is a community that brings together artists, educators, students, galleries—basically any and all glass enthusiasts. This year, the 2019 GAS Conference, themed Charting a Course: Visions in Glass is being held at Imagine Museum from March 27-30.

The Conference kicks off at 6:30 p.m. on March 27 with an evening with The Corning Museum of Glass Mobile Hot Shop, a group of educators and glassmakers who take the art of glassmaking on the road, and Richard Jolley, a well-known artist.

Tickets are $25 a person and you can purchase them here. Light appetizers and beverages will be served.

The conference as a whole will shed light on glassmaking career skills, relationships between glass science and technology, creative directions of emerging artists, changes in the market, and new directions in collecting.

“The GAS Conference is a reference point from which to assess Charting a Course of the vital, living history of our medium,” the press release stated. “It is an opportunity to meet and review the past and approach the future in the spirit of the glass art pioneers from whose intention, innovation and momentum we benefit every day.”

Local day passes to the 2019 GAS Conference are $150 and can only be purchased on site. Be sure to bring your Florida photo ID. For the full schedule, please click here.
