Farm Aid Concert Provides Relief For Families in Crisis

By Jessica Wheeler, AliveTampaBay Columnist

The 31st annual Farm Aid benefit concert, held on Sept. 17 in Bristow, Virginia, continued its mission to raise funds for farmers in need. The event, founded in 1985 by perennial headliners Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, and Neil Young, has since raised more than $50 million in total, providing resources and aid for countless farming families. While the headliners stay the same, the supporting acts featured are among some of music’s hottest new talents. This year they included Alabama Shakes, Margo Price, and Jamey Johnson.
