Page Turner: Printed Books Top E-Books

The Pew Research Center found that twice as many Americans read a printed book than read an e-book in the past 12 months.

According to the Pew survey, “Fully 65 percent of Americans have read a print book in the last year, more than double the share that has read an e-book (28 percent) and more than four times the share that has consumed book content via audio book (14 percent).”

Only 73 percent of Americans read at least one book in the past 12 months, which means more than a quarter of the population never cracked open a book — or an e-book — during the entire year. The percentage of Americans who read at least one book has dropped from 2011, when 79 percent read a book.
