Clayton Galleries will celebrate its 30th anniversary with paintings by Tampa Artist Karen Tucker Kuykendall in an exhibition titled “ …and Tales of Great Adventure.”
The free event lasts until Oct. 28. Clayton Galleries is located at 4105 South MacDill Avenue.
In describing her work, Kuykendall says, “My paintings are cluttered and busy and frantic and loud. I interweave images like plots and subplots in novels so that layers of images, symbolism, spatial planes, color and pattern work together to create tension and harmony…with a little humor.”
She received her M.A. Degree from the University of South Florida and her B.A. Fine Arts from Florida State University. Kuykendall’s work can be found in the public collections of The Tampa Museum of Art, The Polk Museum of Art, and Rollins College.
