A Back-Yard Barbecue, Marriage and 5 Things to Know

I fell for Garth at a back-yard barbecue in Brooklyn, in 2010. I was instantly attracted to his full beard, vintage hat, and shy confidence. I normally take it slow, but, on the day we met, Garth came home with me. And he never left.

Now the very same qualities that first drew me to him are turning out to be serious liabilities in our marriage! I’m sharing my story with you now in the hopes that you will learn from my mistakes. Here are five things I wish I’d known way earlier:
