John F. Kennedy was always quick with a quip.
At the ’62 baseball All-Star Game, JFK, age 45, told Cardinal great Stan Musial, age 42 : “A couple of years ago, they told me I was too young to be President and you were too old to be playing baseball. But we fooled them.”
JFK’s quip reminds of Tom Brady, obviously not too old to be playing football at age 43, who led the Bucs to a Super Bowl win and was named game MVP. He has said repeatedly he would like to play to age 45 but possibly could play longer.
Ask if there was more football to come, “Yeah, we’re coming back” the ageless Brady told reporters after his record seventh Super Bowl win on Sunday.
