From the White House to the dog house.
While some 17 million Americans were focused on Oprah’s interview with Harry and Meghan, I sniffed out an inside Washington story.
It’s quite a tale. One of the first family’s German shepherds, Major, was involved in a minor biting incident, according to press reports.
Besides Major, other First Dogs have also brought unwanted news. Take Barney, a pet of President George W. Bush. The Scottish Terrior actually bit two people. President Johnson got in hot water after picking up one of his beagles by the ears.
But Presidential dogs mostly bring great press and offer charming photo opts. There are photos of Major and his pal Champs with the President in the Oval Office.
And as the saying goes: If you want a friend in Washington, get a dog.
