Welcome back to OnThePoint.  This is Greg C. Truax.

James Carville  recently offered his thoughts in a New York Times Op Ed on why Donald Trump is now the president-elect.

The veteran democratic strategist said the answer is simple: It’s the economy, stupid.

In Carville’s view, Donald Trump decisively won by connecting with middle-class and low-income voters focused on their financial struggles.

Democrats have lost the economic narrative, he wrote. To win it back, Carville said Democrats need a transformed messaging machine that speaks persuasively and repetitively about the economy, And stop obsessing over Trump and social issues, Carvill warns democrats. If people can’t provide for their families, nothing else matters.
