A Biden Administration’s initiative targets so-called junk fees from airlines, concert venues, and financial services. Credit card late fees are also a target.
Yet, there is an interesting silence from the administration regarding the fees charged by the federal government itself, according the CATO Institute. From IRS penalties to late fees charged by the EPA, Medicare, Medicade, the FCC. Well, the government isn’t shy about imposing its own set of charges.
Before cracking down on private businesses, perhaps the administration should reflect on its own practices. How about some consistency, fairness, and consider that sometimes the solution starts at home
