A messy withdrawal from Afghanistan.
As the American people see chaos on graphic display on their television screens, they’re going to be concerned that President Biden doesn’t have his act together.
A mid-August poll by NBC news of adults bears that out. Just 25 percent approve of the president’s handling of Afghanistan while 60 percent disapprove. But 61 percent believe the war was not worth it.
Overall, only 29 percent of Americans think the country is headed in the right direction, that’s down 7 points since the last NBC survey.
The endgame of the President’s withdrawal from Afghanistan has undercut fundamental premises of his young presidency – mastery of foreign policy, adults in the room competence and empathy.
