Inflation is the most urgent issue facing the country.
That’s according to a new national poll by Quinnipiac University.
Thirty-one percent of Americans in the poll named inflation, which accelerated in March to 8.5 percent, as the number one issue, followed by immigration at 10 percent, election laws at 8 percent, and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine at 7 percent.
Americans continue to give President Biden low marks on handling the economy – 61 percent disapprove, and the President received a negative 38 – 52 percent job approval rating.
This national poll like others is flashing a warning signal for the President and the Democrats as midterm elections like this one in November are a referendum on the incumbent president and his party.
