British medical journal The Lancet published a study saying that South Korean women born in 2030 will have the longest average lifespan in the world — 90 years.
That’s 6.6 years longer than those born in 2010, these scientists predict. The current life expectancy in South Korea for women is 81.9 years.
What do South Korean women get right? Education, nutrition, low obesity rates, and low hypertension, for starters.
French women came in second after their South Korean counterparts, with life expectancy for those born in 2030 forecast at 88.6 years, followed by Japan, with 88.4 years.
Meanwhile, Americans will continue to have one of the lowest life expectancies in the developed world, the study predicts.
