A new timelapse video from photographer Kirill Neiezhmakov is getting a lot of attention for its stunning tour of one of the world’s most interesting cities: St. Petersburg.
Not the one here. The one “over there.”
Travel and Leisure notes, “Neiezhmakov uses dazzling cinematography to take you through some of Russia’s most recognizable historic landmarks and architecture, including the towering cathedrals with distinctive and colorful domes and many waterways that earned the city the nickname the ‘Venice of the North.'”
The video, titled “White Nights” refers to the particular time of year in St. Petersburg, from mid-June to early July, when daylight lasts nearly 19 hours.
After watching the video, you might just find yourself booking a trip to Russia’s cultural capital.
