This morning, I had the pleasure of watching the sun rise over downtown Chicago from my room on the 37th floor of the Marriott Magnificent Mile. I’m here for the 100th annual gathering of the Association of Educators in Journalism and Mass Communication. The University of Tampa, where I teach, is interviewing candidates for two tenure-track positions in advertising and public relations.
Last night’s keynote address was given by Craig Silverman, one of the world’s foremost experts on verification and fake news. His talk was titled “Fake News, Real Opportunity: Why Journalists and Academics Must Work Together.”
Stay tuned for more updates from Chicago.
