Welcome back to OnThePoint, I’m Greg C. Truax.
There are some big challenges facing Democratic candidates in Florida as Election Day approaches.
Look at the numbers.
In the primary election, Republicans cast nearly 438,000 more ballots than Democrats and outvoted them in 58 of Florida’s 67 counties. Republicans also hold a voter-registration advantage of more than 1.5 million statewide.
Then there’s party unity.
The four Republican nominees for statewide office recently appeared together in Tampa, where Governor Ron DeSantis endorsed the ticket, including Byron Donalds to succeed him as governor.
For Florida Republicans, the image was unmistakable: one ticket, one stage and a party publicly united heading into November. From the NewsTalk 1040 studios, I’m Greg C. Truax.
