David Jolly, the Democratic candidate for governor of Florida, says he rejects socialism.
Fine. But by refusing to debate Republican Byron Donalds, Jolly avoids an important question:
Which policies of Angie Nixon, the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate, do you support, and which do you reject?
Nixon is a member of the Democratic Socialists of America. She backs Medicare for All, student-debt cancellation, a national rent freeze, free childcare, a $25 federal minimum wage and a billionaire wealth tax.
By refusing to debate Donalds, Jolly avoids having to explain, on stage and on live television, where he agrees or disagrees with Nixon’s big-government, big-spending agenda.
That’s a debate Floridian’s deserve to hear.
