A historic reunion concert is building for John Capouya’s Florida Soul book launch on Oct. 27 at the Palladium Side Door Cabaret. The book reception is at 6:30 p.m., and a concert by the soul band Little Jake and the Soul Searchers from Gainesville begins at 8 p.m. Tampa native Little Jake Mitchell, who is included in Capouya’s book, will be coming home to the bay area to perform at the book launch. Now a special group of soul artists from our area will join Capouya and the band in celebrating their history and our heritage.

John Capouya’s book, Florida Soul: From Ray Charles to KC and the Sunshine Band, was published in September 2017 by University Press of Florida. The book has earned rave reviews from critics and publications across the country, including Publisher’s Weekly and Library Journal.
