New Beach Visitors

Sea turtle nests and tourist umbrellas were spoted on Pass-a-Grille Beach over the Memorial Day weekend. A whopping 98 percent of nesting turtles are loggerheads, with the occasional green turtle and the rare Kemp’s Ridley making an appearance. Florida, which ranks as one of the top three loggerhead nesting areas in the world, is crucial for loggerhead turtles in the United States, with 90 percent of the country’s loggerhead nesting in the Sunshine state/Photo by AliveTampaBay.
