Welcome back to OnThePoint, this is Greg C. Truax.

President Trump won the Electoral College, carried both blue and red states, and won the popular vote—yet federal district court judges keep blocking his executive orders, promises he made during his reelection campaign.

These nationwide injunctions against President Trump’s agenda by district court judges are an overreach.  From stalling deportations to forcing the reinstatement of federal employees, these rulings deprive the executive branch of its rightful authority under the Constitution.

Judicial independence is important, but federal district court  judges shouldn’t act like a shadow legislature. Congress should enact legislation to restore the proper checks and balances our founders intended.
