America’s First All-Renewable-Energy City

From Politico: America’s First All-Renewable-Energy City.

Hydroelectric power. Wind turbines. Solar panels. Burlington, Vermont, is on track to become the first city in America to be a net zero consumer of energy within the next few years. There’s even a plan to use Burlington’s “waste heat” to warm downtown buildings.

For the past four decades, the left-leaning municipal government has been crafting creative ways for the city to become less dependent on fossil fuels and traditional sources of energy. The payoff comes in a variety of forms. As climate change reshapes the environment, Burlington will be ready. Additionally, homegrown food is making the tourists happy.
