During this time of year, if you don’t live in Florida, you might have to endure frustrating, disruptive, dangerous, snowy weather. In my native Kentucky, schools close on a regular basis during winter months. In fact, Louisville’s public school district has more weather-related closures — an average of 50 per year — than any other district in the country, according to The Atlantic. It’s not something I have to worry about down here. Of course, as a kid, I had a much different attitude toward routine-stopping snowy weather: Put away the school books, get out the sled, and let the good times roll … down the hill of my neighbor’s backyard.
