Snacks That Help Boost Your Metabolism

It probably won’t surprise you to learn that, according to recent research by the USDA, our snacking habits are adding too many calories and too few nutrients to our diets. But according to Susan Bowerman, assistant director of the UCLA Center for Human Nutrition, “When done right, (snacking) keeps your energy levels up and gives you more opportunities to get in all your nutritional needs.”

The following snacks can help boost your metabolism:

  1. An apple and skim milk
  2. Cottage cheese-filled avocado
  3. Canned tuna on whole-wheat crackers
  4. Sunflower lentil spread with pita bread
