The first exhibition of the 2019 season by the TECO Public Art Gallery features Kerry Didday, a local artist who lives and works in Sun City Center.
“Neutral Impressions”, a solo exhibition by Mr. Didday, runs through Feb. 28 at the downtown Tampa gallery located at 702 N. Franklin Street.
The new series of paintings by the artist, according to the gallery, “was greatly influenced by the shapes, textures and colors of New Mexico and the high desert country.”
“After years of painting with primary colors, this series developed and I, too, embraced the beauty and impact of neutrals,” the artist said. “Each painting begins as an experiment, where every element is open to change and manipulation. As I add paint to canvas, my paintings progress as the direction is uncovered and developed. The figurative works tend to represent a relationship of the figures and evoke a mood.”
From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 25 at the gallery artist Didday will host a free talk and tour of his exhibition.
