Creative Pinellas is launching Making Waves, a new cultural tourism pilot initiative set to debut in spring 2026. Running throughout April and May, the program will spotlight art in nature with exhibitions, performances, and interactive experiences staged in parks, beaches, preserves, galleries, and unexpected public spaces across Pinellas County.
As part of the initiative, applications are now open for the 2025–26 Artist Grants, including the Arts Impact Fund and Arts Ignite Fund. Creative Pinellas is a 501(c)(3) arts and cultural organization established in 2011 as the designated Local Arts Agency for Pinellas County.
The Arts Impact Fund offers grants of $3,000 to $10,000 for site-specific projects focused on environmental themes like sustainability, ecology, and community. through visual art, performance, music and film. Selected works will be featured during Making Waves in outdoor and public settings, according to a media release.
“This year’s grants are more than just funding—they’re an invitation for artists to become environmental storytellers,” said Creative Pinellas CEO Margaret Murray. “Art can inspire people to see and care for the places they love in powerful new ways.”
The Arts Ignite Fund provides up to $500 to help artists close budget gaps for current or upcoming projects.
Applications are open through August 2025. Applicants must be Pinellas County residents age 18 or older.
