The Florida Museum of Photographic Arts will host its second annual awards benefit on Nov. 15 in Tampa to honor the museum’s  donors and volunteers.

Ten of FMoPA’s “most generous” donors and volunteers will be recognized at “Faces of Philanthropy,” which will be held on National Philanthropy Day at the Oxford Exchange, 420 W Kennedy Blvd.

“We are proud to have the opportunity to celebrate the achievements of local photographers, sponsors, and volunteers of the museum community,” said FMoPA Executive Director Zora Carrier, Ph.D. “This event allows us to show our appreciation for their hard work and generosity.”

This year, Dr. Carrier said, the museum is offering sponsorship opportunities for “those who wish to carry on the work the awardees have pushed forward.”

Contributions by sponsors toward FMoPA’s most significant fundraising event help bring exhibitions from nationally and internationally renowned photographers, in addition to supporting local artists, arts groups and the preservation of critical photographic works.

“These sponsorships are vital and they make FMoPA the thriving community it is,” Dr. Carrier said. “We are confident that this year’s sponsors will continue to make a difference for our museum,” which is one of about ten museums in the United States dedicated exclusively to photography.

FMoPA has three sponsorship levels ranging form $1,000 to $5,000.  Contact Dr. Carrier at Zora@fmopa.org for information about becoming a “Faces of Philanthropy” sponsor.
