The Florida Museum of Photographic Arts will open its 18th annual “Members Show” with a reception and awards ceremony at the downtown Tampa museum located at 400 North Ashley St.
The opening reception is from 5 to 7 p.m. on July 27. Works shown will include member-submitted photographs in six categories.
All submitted work will be exhibited, and winners in each category will be selected by a panel of judges and announced at the reception, according to the museum. Reception attendees who donate to the museum will be eligible to vote on an overall best-in-show winner.
“The ‘Members Show’ is a wonderful opportunity for the museum to connect with its members in a more personal way,” said Executive Director Zora Carrier, Ph.D. “We enjoy showcasing their creativity and appreciate the hard work they put into creating photographs for this show.”
Submissions from FMoPA members will be accepted through July 20. Go to the Members Show for more information or to submit entries, Dr Carrier said.
The Florida Museum of Photographic Arts is a museum dedicated to exhibiting important photographic art as central to contemporary life and culture. FMoPA collects preserves and exhibits historic and contemporary works by nationally and internationally known photographic artists.
