The Florida Museum of Photographic Arts is now accepting submissions for its 18th annual Members Show.

“The Members Show is a great opportunity for both members and the museum,” said FMoPA Executive Director Zora Carrier, Ph.D. “It allows us to showcase our members’ talent and diverse perspectives, while also helping them gain exposure for their work.”

Members of FMoPA can submit photographic art to the show by July 20. There will be five categories featured in this year’s exhibition: 1-People and Portraits, 2-Travel, Landscape and Cityscape, 3-Animals and Nature, 4-Still Life, 5-Abstract.

To participate in the show, each artist must be a member of the museum or sign up for a membership at the time of submission. Go to membersshow.fmopa.org for detailed information about submission guidelines or how to become a member of the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts. All submissions will be installed in the museum’s Community Gallery, Dr. Carrier said.

An opening reception and awards ceremony at the museum is from 5 to 7 p.m. on July 27. Winners from each category will receive a prize awarded by show sponsors.

The Florida Museum of Photographic Arts exhibits important photographic art that is central to contemporary life and culture. FMoPA collects, preserves and exhibits historic and contemporary works by nationally and internationally known photographic artists. The museum is one of fewer than ten museums in the United States dedicated exclusively to photography and one of two such museums in Florida.

Admission to the museum is free for members and only $10 for nonmembers.
