By Greg C. Truax In his final State of the State address on January 13, 2026, Gov. Ron DeSantis didn’t ask Floridians to grade him on slogans or television hits. He asked them to look at the ledger—at outcomes. That’s the most refreshing thing about Florida politics in the DeSantis era: the governing philosophy has been unapologetically conservative, and the results have been measurable.
