The first radio ad, part of a series of radio and video commercials to raise cancer awareness, is now airing on locally-owned radio stations WWBA AM820 and WHBO AM1040.

Station owner Bruce Maduri, CEO of Genesis Communications Media and United Cities Productions, said the radio spots are part of a two-month long multimedia campaign launched by his company and the Gonzmart Family of Restaurants.

The radio and video commercials in September and October feature Richard Gonzmart, a prostate cancer survivor and a 4th generation “caretaker” of the multiple Columbia Restaurants and other brands, and Jan Berry, a breast cancer survivor. Ms. Berry, vice president of marketing at Genesis Communications Media and United Cities Productions, can be contacted at janberry@unitedcitiespro.com or at 813-250-3883 for more information about the campaign.

September is Prostate Cancer Awareness month and October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. The commercials, which will also focus on testing, coincide with the American Cancer Society and the National Football League campaigns.

The ad, which is presented by Tampa General Hospital, is now airing on local radio stations WWBA AM 820 and WHBO AM 1040, both based in the Tampa Bay area.
