Welcome back to OnThePoint, this is Greg C. Truax.
Florida Democrats are disappearing faster than tourists in a summer thunderstorm.
Remember their 586,000 voter lead in 2010? Gone. Today Democrats trail Republicans by 1.29 million registrants.
Now the red Republican wave has officially swept Miami-Dade County, a long-standing Democratic fortress. The state GOP reports that more Republicans are registered in the county than Democrats.
The Florida Democratic Party must confront an important political reality — millions of Florida voters are reliably casting ballots for GOP candidates.
Notably, Democrats have lost registration share in all Florida counties since the 2022 general election. If this keeps up, Democrats may need Google Maps to find their base.
