Principles Over Personalities

Welcome back to OnThePoint, I’m Greg C. Truax.

On Election Day, conservatives and independent-minded voters should consider a lesson from Ronald Reagan:

He said:  The person who agrees with you 80 percent of the time is a friend and ally, not a 20 percent traitor.

Reagan knew conservatives wouldn’t always agree. And that’s okay.

You may dislike President Trump’s rhetoric or disagree with a conservative candidate. But don’t lose sight of the bigger picture: Elections have consequences for taxes, spending, border security, and America’s future.

No candidate is perfect. No political party is perfect.

The question isn’t whether you agree on everything.

It’s whether your elected officials share the principles that matter to you most.

From the NewsTalk 1040 studios, I’m Greg C. Truax
