The Florida Museum of Photographic Arts in downtown Tampa is now accepting submissions to its Photography Benefit Sale.

The popular annual event, which runs from Dec. 1 to Jan. 31, 2020, offers FMoPA members the opportunity to display and sell their work within a museum setting, and it offers museum visitors an opportunity to view and also purhcase work produced by local photographers.

Artists set their own prices and keep the proceeds of work they sell. Visit www.fmopa.org/benefit-sale to register. To become a member of the museum and be eligible to participate in the sale, visit www.fmopa.org/join. Or for more information, email info@fmopa.org or call the museum at (813) 221-2222.

“Every year we are excited to host the Photography Benefit Sale and present an opportunity to local photographers for a group exhibition. In the process we are building a strong community of photography lovers and enthusiast,” said FMoPA Executive Director Zora Carrier, Ph.D.

FMoPA members participating in the benefit sale can submit their work now through Nov. 24, and there is no limit to the number of pieces each member can submit. The only fee is 10 cents per square inch of the wall space occupied by each piece displayed. For example, an 8-by-10-inch framed photograph will cost just $8, Dr. Carrier said.

The Florida Museum of Photographic Arts is dedicated to exhibiting important photographic art as central to contemporary life and culture. FMoPA collects, preserves and exhibits historic and contemporary works by nationally and internationally known photographic artists. FMoPA is one of fewer than 10 museums in the United States dedicated exclusively to photography and one of two such museums in Florida.

Admission to the museum at 400 N Ashely Drive Cube 200 is free for members and $10 for non-members.
