Opinion

Welcome back to OnThePoint, I’m Greg C. Truax.

As America marks the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, it’s timely to remember what John Adams called the “real American Revolution.”

Our second president and Founding Father said it began not on the battlefield, but in the hearts and minds of a free people committed to self-government, virtue, and responsibility.

The Declaration gave voice to that revolutionary spirit.

As we commemorate America’s 250th, the question isn’t whether we honor our history. It’s whether we still possess the virtues of character that make liberty and self-government possible.

From the NewsTalk 1040 studios, I’m Greg C. Truax.
