Welcome back to OnThePoint, I’m Greg C. Truax.

Florida Democrats face a stiff general election headwind, and frankly, the numbers tell the story. Republicans have a voter-registration advantage of roughly 1.5 million, and a conservative message that fits Florida’s right-leaning electorate.

Consider recent elections. Donald Trump and Rick Scott won Florida by double digits in 2024, following the GOP landslides of 2022 for governor, U.S. Senate and the three Cabinet seats.

Republicans have held supermajorities in the Florida House and Senate and Florida’s congressional seats.

And here’s the bottom line: Democrats hold no statewide elected office in Florida.

They have until Election Day, November 3rd, to convince Floridians it’s time for a change.

From the NewsTalk 1040 studios, I’m Greg C. Truax.
