The Florida Museum of Photographic Arts will recognize its top donors and volunteers at the museum’s first annual awards benefit Wednesday at the Oxford Exchange.

Due to high demand, tickets for the event — titled Faces of Philanthropy — have already sold out.

Awards will be presented to 11 supporters over the course of the evening by Channel 10 news anchor Candice Aviles.

“I think that everything FMoPA has achieved this year with our exhibitions, classes and outreach offerings is because of the help we’ve received from numerous volunteers and supporters,” said FMoPA’s executive director, Zora Carrier, Ph.D. “These awards are our way of saying thank you.”

Among the award recipients will be Susana Weymouth of the Tampa Bay Businesses for Culture and the Arts (TBBCA), noted philanthropists James and Celia Ferman, Tom Hall of Tucker/Hall and Creative Loafing editor David Warner.

Each awardee was selected by the museum’s staff and Board of Directors from a pool of nearly 150 donors and volunteers.

“FMoPA is so lucky to have so many incredible supporters, and I’m grateful to each and every one of them,” said Carrier. “This awards benefit is going to be an annual event because we have so many people who deserve awards. We can’t possibly fit them all into just one year.”

Faces of Philanthropy is the museum’s biggest fundraiser of the year. All proceeds will benefit the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts.
